How does Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion work?

• The Crystal Clear handset is placed on to the skin and a microscopic flow of crystals is directed onto the surface of the skin. The speed of the crystals, together with their abrasive nature, gently removes the epidermal cells layer by layer. Used crystals and dead skin cells are drawn away through the vacuum action.
• This action allows for the controlled exfoliation of the stratum corneum allowing a smoother fresher skin to emerge and correcting surface irregularities.

Is Crystal Clear suitable for acne-prone skin?

• With acne prone skin, dead cells build up around the hair follicles, they interfere with the natural drainage of oil, causing the hair follicle to clog and fill. Can Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion help with my acne scarring?

• In most cases, yes it can! With acne scarring a small portion of the deep germinative layer is damaged leaving it full of fibrous scar tissue. The scar is depressed, as healthy tissue destruction is more in-depth. Regular treatments with Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion will result in a smoother skin and help create a 'blended' effect of the surrounding scar tissue making the scar tissue less noticeable.
• Ice pick type acne scars will not be improved by the use of Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion alone, however regular treatment will have an overall improvement in the quality of the skin.
• Also for great results, can be used with a course of Gel Peels.

Will facial scrubs provide the same results?

• Facial scrubs do not have the same stimulation effects on the skin as Microdermabrasion.
• Some facial scrubs may scratch the skin, causing irritation. They are merely loosening the corneocytes and not removing the dead skin cells in a controlled manner (which the Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion treatment targets).
