Skinceuticals Gel Peels
How regularly should I have a Gel Peel?
For optimal results, apply in a series of six sessions or (for a deeper penetration) in conjunction with Microdermabrasion. You will receive a thorough consultation to evaluate your skin condition. SkinCeuticals Gel Peels should be applied once a week, followed by a treatment once a month.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Clients are strongly recommended to use the recommended homecare products in order to see longer term, beneficial results.
- Prepare the skin for two weeks prior to salon treatment with Skinceuticals 'Retexturing Activator' (30ml £70). A potent night time line-minimising treatment which hydrates as it aggressively exfoliates dead skin cells to dramatically improve the overall appearance of the skin.
- After treatment use Skinceuticals 'Pyhsical UV Defense SPF30' sunscreen daily.
- Gel Peels are performed by a qualified therapist, we recommend a course of six peels carried out on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Alison will decide after a complete skin analysis how many treatments you will require. A monthly maintenance peel is recommended and regular homecare routine is essential.
- Avoid using an AHA product before and after having a peel for 24 hours.
- Discontinue any use of Retin-A or any other topical medicative creams for at least 6 weeks.
- Do not have any laser, waxing or electrolysis for 48 hours before or after a Gel Peel treatment.

What does a Gel Peel feel like?
• The Salicylic Peel (SM) will feel like a burning sensation and could even feel 'hotter' when the water is applied to remove. This is entirely normal.
